Become a Volunteer for Florida AIDS Walk
Being a Florida AIDS Walk volunteer can mean a long day’s work. It’s also one of the most fun and fulfilling ways to get involved. Click here to learn more about Volunteer Teams.
Our volunteers perform a number of essential tasks to support the walkers and make Florida AIDS Walk a success:
- Signing in walkers and teams at the starting line
- Setting up and tearing down hydration and rest stops along the route
- Answering questions from walkers and spectators
- Providing points of communication along the route to ensure quick assistance in the event of an emergency
- Helping with post-event cleanup to ensure that Florida AIDS Walk is viewed positively by the Fort Lauderdale community
- And much more!
In addition to the above, self-sponsorships, sponsorships by others and donations are greatly appreciated.

Volunteer Orientation
Before the walk, volunteers will gather for an orientation to learn more about the event and finalize assignment details. They will meet their team captain and other volunteers, ask questions, and get details about how to support the walkers at the event. We will introduce event staff, preview the route map and locations, practice with any equipment or forms you will be working with and answer any questions you may have.
